[The Record 原稿]WATERLOO — Waterloo Regional Police Service have arrested an 18-year-old Brampton man in the hit-and-run death of Jordan Gillis.
Gillis, 29, was struck and killed as he walked at the intersection of Hazel Street and Austin Drive early on the morning of Oct. 20. The driver left the scene and police had been searching for a red vehicle ever since.
Earlier this month, police released a list of possible sport utility vehicles connected with the crime, based on security camera footage.
Police now say they've seized the vehicle they believed struck Gillis, a red Jeep Wrangler, and have arrested its driver. The teenager was in Sunday to be formally charged with criminal negligence causing death and failing to remain at the scene.
Police said they are not releasing the name of the accused because of a court-ordered media ban.
