[Sports-committee] Third Chinese badminton tournament

Tianhua reminded me that June 30 will be a long weekend (National day
holiday). It seems that June 23 will be the best day for our tournament.
Please confirm the court availability with KW badminton club as soon as
possible. If you are busy, please let me know. Jenny SHI and Hu (Kevin) HONG
have kindly agreed to help the organization of this event and Jenny can
contact that club manager for court reservation.

 

Once we firm up the date, we will start our registration for this tournament
soon.

Hi Zhouqi,

 

I looked at the calendar, it looks like that we may have two opportunity
windows: June 23rd, Jun 30th, both are Saturday. Could you please check with
KW badminton club to see whether the gym will be available on these two
days? We may need to book all six courts for one whole day 9:00 am - 6:00
pm. 

 

I am now considering to organize three different groups: men double, women
double and mix double and try to accommodate all games in one day.

As a results, we plan to accept 16 teams for men double, 8 teams for women
double and 8 teams for mix double. Our own club members will have priority
to register the tournament and for free. If there are still spots available,
we may accept non-members' registration. 

 

I assume you will be part of our tournament organizing committee and will be
responsible for booking the gym. Do you like to lead this initiative? 

 

Please let me know your opinion. Once we set a date, we will send out the
first round announcement soon and start our registration for this
tournament.
