DESCRIPTIONThe Waterloo Regional Police Service is proud to facilitate the first Waterloo Chinese Community Forum. This forum is designed to help administrators and frontline service providers, who interact with Chinese residents within our community and university campuses on a regular basis, to learn about our Region’s Chinese community. Participants will meet key contacts within the Chinese community. The session will close with the development of preliminary strategies to enhance the quality of services provided to Waterloo’s Chinese community.The forum will cover the following areas:
-- The relationship between Chinese and authorities in China and Canada
-- Debunking popular stereotypes
-- Life of Chinese immigrants and international students in Canada
-- How can each organization help to integrate Chinese international students
-- Newcomers’ mental health challenges
